Two FKHS Teachers Travel to DC to Study the Holocaust

Two Field Kindley High School teachers travel to Washington DC to study Holocaust History.

Kayanna Adams and Megan Wade participated in KC to DC, a program sponsored by the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education. The program included 11 hours of virtual instruction, a self-study assignment and a visit to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. Adams says the experience gave her a new perspective on the importance of teaching Holocaust history. Wade says touring the museum reinforced the importance of honoring those who were lost and teaching students about the dangers of hatred and indifference.

Both teachers plan to use what they learned in their classrooms. KC to DC will pause during museum renovations in 2027 and 2028 before returning in 2029.
