County fair season is a chance for 4-H and FFA members to showcase the hard work they've put in all year. Many exhibitors spend months raising, feeding, and caring for their livestock, and some even exhibit bred-and-owned animals they've raised since birth. Corda Layhe says one of her favorite parts of fair season is raising and showing pigs.

Several Wildcat Extension District youth also recently returned from the Big 3 Livestock Judging Contest. Brogon Zwahlen says he enjoys the competition and the opportunity to gain experience while improving his livestock evaluation skills.

In addition to showing livestock, many county fairs also offer judging contests, giving youth another way to put their livestock knowledge to the test.

Whether they're exhibiting animals they've raised or competing in livestock judging, county fairs give 4-H and FFA members the opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate the rewards of their hard work.
