The Parsons City Commission approves the disbursement of funds from the Special Alcohol Tax funds for several local groups.
At this week's commission meeting, commissioners approved the request for funds from several groups. Mayor Kevin Cruse says the amount of money totals about $10,000.
In other business, commissioners also heard a citizen comment regarding the need to a crosswalk on US-59. Police Chief Robert Spinks says a traffic study would show where the need is greatest.
Commissioners also said they would consider a request to place a stop sign at 26th and Briggs.
