For 130 years, Nowata City Drug has been a cornerstone of the Nowata community.

 

The drug store was honored this week by the State of Oklahoma for its contribution to the Nowata Community. Established in 1896, Nowata City Drug is a place not only to receive care but has also become a place for people to come together. Nowata Mayor Garry Gibson says City Drug is a foundation for Nowata.

 

During a Tuesday ceremony, State Representative Judd Strom presented a commendation from the Governor's Office congratulating Nowata City Drug on 130 years of business. Strom says Nowata City Drug has had a great impact on the community.

 

Nowata City Drug has been in the same location at 128 East Cherokee Street in downtown Nowata since 1954.
