The Wilson County Commission approves purchase requests for the County Health Department and an easement for the installation of a rural water line.
County Health Department Administrator Amy Lell appeared before the commission at its most recent meeting to request purchase approvals using funds from the Workforce Development Grant Fund. Commissioners approved the purchase of 15 to 20 car seats for $2,250. Also approved was $6,000 for three Automated External Defibrillators, and $600 for 15 to 20 smoke and carbon dioxide detectors, as well as $3,000 for three cabinets for school hygiene supplies.
Commissioners also approved a request from Rural Water District #10 for an easement within the right-of-way on 1600 Road for the installation of a water line. There were also 2027 budget requests from the Wilson County Conservation District for $25,000 and from Rural Fire for $95,000. Commissioners also discussed implementing County-wide burn permits in the future similar to those used in Elk County. The issue was tabled until further information can be obtained.
The Wilson County Commission will meet again today at 9am in room 101 of the County Courthouse in Fredonia. The meeting is open to the public.
