The Rogers, Arkansas, Police Department announces the passing of one of its officers in a weekend drowning incident.

According to the Rogers Police Department, 24-year-old Fred Marsh died in a drowning incident on Saturday, July 18, on the Elk River while canoeing with his fiancee and friends. Marsh was in his first year of service as a police officer.

Out of regard for the privacy of the officer's family, no additional details about the accident have been released.
