Nowata Public Schools is warning of a potential scam targeting local businesses.

School officials say businesses have received phone calls asking them to sponsor Nowata Basketball T-shirts. The district says its basketball programs are not selling T-shirts or requesting sponsorships over the phone at this time.

Any calls asking businesses to purchase basketball apparel or sponsor shirts are not affiliated with Nowata Public Schools or the Nowata Basketball programs.
