Emergency crews from Independence and Sycamore respond to a two vehicle accident north of Independence.

The initial call came in around 7:30pm last night for reports of a car accident involving a vehicle and a horse trailer on US-75 near the intersection with County Road 5000, or near the Elk River Bridge. EMS treated two patients at the scene. However, both of those individuals refused transport to a medical facility. Witnesses to the crash say that there may have been some injuries to the horses in the trailer, but those reports have not been confirmed.
