The Altamont City Council considers a proposal to install a new sound system at the city swimming pool.

 

At the most recent council meeting, an Altamont citizen told council members that he has already raised the funding for a sound system that would allow the pool to rebroadcast area radio stations for the enjoyment of pool patrons. The man says he is ready to work with the City on the issue.

 

Mayor Richard Hayward says he thinks it’s a good idea as long as the law is followed.

 

City Superintendent Nathan Barnett told the council that the pool would likely need some electrical improvements to accommodate the new system. The measure was approved on a unanimous vote.
