Area emergency crews respond to a vehicle fire near Dearing.

The initial call came in around 7pm Sunday night June 28 and Dearing Fire along with Coffeyville EMS responded to the intersection of County Road 4354 and County Road 2043 between Dearing and Coffeyville for reports of a car on fire.  Upon arrival, firefighters found a single vehicle fully involved in flames off the road near pastures with no nearby structures.

Crews were able to successfully extinguish the the blaze with no injuries reported. The only property damage was to the vehicle involved. Reports indicate that a connecting rod in the car went through the engine block, causing the fire.
