Motorists traveling on K-146 west of Walnut will need to plan for a temporary road closure next week.

The Kansas Department of Transportation says K-146 will be closed to through traffic on Tuesday from U.S. 59 east to the Neosho and Crawford county line while crews replace drainage pipes beneath the highway. The closure is scheduled from 7:00am to 4:00pm, weather permitting. The drainage pipes being replaced are located about a mile and a half west of the Neosho and Crawford county line.

KDOT encourages drivers to use an alternate route during the closure and to follow posted signs while traveling through work zones. Updated highway conditions and construction information are available at kandrive.gov.
