The Independence Rotary Club is less than $9,000 away from their $25,000 goal for their 4th of July fireworks celebration. Club President Cody Oates says rising costs have played an impact on the money needed for the event.
Anyone who wants to donate can do so by visiting the Community Foundation for Independence website or by contacting Rotary's Fireworks Committee Leader Fred Meier at (620)332-4906. Independence Rotary is hosting a hot dog luncheon fundraiser from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Patio 210 to help raise money as well.
