Bartlesville Man Faces Felony Assault Charges

 

A Bartlesville man is facing a felony assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charge.

 

The charge against 58-year-old Paul Elliot comes after officers found him to be in possession of a machete and what appeared to be a homemade knife. He is also faces an additional misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.

 

According to police, two witnesses allegedly saw Elliot walk make threatening motions with the machete. After the incident occurred, Elliot was asked to leave the area. Camera footage shows Elliot trying to open a fence door in the front yard of a residence during the encounter. 

 

Elliot is facing a $50,000 bond on the condition he have no contact with the alleged victim. He is due back in court on June 5.
