The Independence City Commission will meet tonight with another round of condemnations on the agenda.
At tonight's meeting, commissioners will hold public hearings on five properties across the city to consider condemnation of dangerous and unsafe structures. There will also be a discussion to award bids to remove 21 structures that have previously been condemned. The date of a public hearing is also expected to be set for a property in the 600 block of north 17th Street. Commissioners will also consider the authorization to accept a Safe Streets for All grant contract with the Federal Highway Administration.
Tonight's Independence City Commission meeting begins at 5:30 in the Commission Room at City Hall. The public is invited to attend the meeting in person or to view it online via the City's website.
