Kansas Public Universities Seek Tuition Increase

 

Five of the six public universities in Kansas are seeking an increase4 in undergraduate tuition for the upcoming academic year.

 

The schools are asking the Kansas Board of Regents to approve increases ranging from 3.5% to 6% for the 2026-2027 school year. The only school not seeking an increase is Emporia State. The University of Kansas is asking for a 4% increase in undergraduate tuition while Kansas State seeks the same for both undergrad and graduate students. Pittsburg State wants a 3.5% increase, with Fort Hays State looking for 6% for on-campus students and 4% for online students. Wichita State is asking for a 4.9% increase.

 

The Kansas Board of Regents will consider the proposals at its June 17th meeting.
