A popular attraction located in Derby is facing some serious repairs after thieves try to steal wire from some of the attractions.
The suspects posed as HVAC repair technicians as they arrived in the early morning hours last week at the Field Station Dinosaurs in Derby. The two individuals then proceeded to damage three of the parks animatronic dinosaurs in order to steal copper wire. The damage has left the dinosaurs inoperable and park management estimates it will cost nearly a thousand dollars per dinosaur to repair them.
This comes after the parks largest largest dinosaur Sauroposeidon was severely damaged in a fire caused by a lightning strike in April.
Repairs are being made to the park as it prepares to open for the season tomorrow.
