Montgomery County announces that there will be three fewer polling sites in the county ahead of the August 4th election.
County Clerk Ami Standridge made the announcement today that the number of sites will be reduced from 17 to 14. She says there are several reasons for the change.
Standridge adds that voters from the closed polling places will be moved to other, nearby locations.
Voters in those locations will be informed by mail of their new polling place. Any registered voter who has previously voted at those locations who does not receive notification soon should contact the County Clerk’s Office.
Below are the changes:
- Voters formerly assigned to Wayside Christian Church will now vote at Havana United Methodist Church, 309 Vore St, Havana, KS 67347
- Voters formerly assigned to the USDA Service Center will now vote at Crystalbrook Church, 801 W Chestnut St, Independence, KS 67301
- Voters formerly assigned to Cherokee Township Hall will now vote at the Coffeyville Citizens Activities Center, 601 S Walnut St, Coffeyville, KS 67337
