A vehicle fire on US-169 leaves the car a total loss.

 

Over the Memorial Day weekend, a driver traveling on US-169 in northern Allen County noticed the passenger compartment of his 2016 Nissan Versa filling with smoke as he traveled along the roadway. The driver was able to pull to the side of the road and exit the car before it became fully engulfed in flames. The fire was extinguished by the Allen County Rural Volunteer Fire Department. The driver believes the fire began in the rear passenger side of the vehicle and was possibly caused by the exhaust system.

 

Deputies from the Allen County Sheriff's Office assisted on the call.
