The Montgomery County Commission is expected to approve several purchases for the Rural Fire Department and for Public Works at this week's meeting.
On today’s agenda is a request for sealed bids for a Brush Truck for Rural Fire from District Fire Chief Michael Smith. Smith will also ask the commission for a resolution to transfer funds to a Special Rural Fire Equipment Fund. Public Works Director Brandon Beurskins will also appear at today’s meeting to request the purchase of chemicals. County Treasurer Mandi Hargis and County Register of Deeds Marilyn Calhoun will also be on hand to provide quarterly reports from their respective departments.
Commissioners are also expected to approve a Cereal Malt Beverage license for the Caney Valley Speedway.
Today’s meeting begins at 9am in the Commission Room on the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the County’s website.
