Sedan Council Discusses Tree Trimming at City Park

The Sedan City Council discusses tree trimming at the City Park at this week's meeting.

City Superintendent Caleb Ironsyde told council members that there were several dead trees at the park that need to come down. Because those trees are near some structures at the park, Ironsyde stated that he didn't feel comfortable doing the work himself for fear a falling tree might damage a building. Mayor Kathy Miller says the City will likely need to hire an outside contractor for the work.

Ironsyde added that he had gotten an estimate from one contractor. Council member Crystal Wade says she thinks the City should follow the Superintendent's recommendation and get a few more estimates.

The council decided to table the issue until the June 2nd meeting.

In other business, it was announced that the opening day for the Sedan swimming pool would change from May 23 to May 25.
