Independence Community College has a new President.
ICC has named James P. Arnold to serve as the school's 20th President. The announcement was made by the ICC Board of Trustees on Thursday, May 21 following a lengthy search. Arnold brings more than two decades of higher education leadership experience with a strong background in enrollment management, student development, athletics administration, and community engagement. Arnold’s career in higher education spans leadership roles at community colleges, NAIA institutions, and NCAA institutions across Missouri and Kansas. His experience includes positions at Highland Community College, Central Methodist University, Southeast Missouri State University, and Westminster College. Arnold has most recently served as Vice President of Enrollment Management, Marketing, & Athletics at Columbia College in Missouri.
Arnold is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Adult Education and Leadership at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri, and holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Benedictine College in Atchison.
ICC has not yet announced Arnold’s official start date.
