Flags in Oklahoma to Fly at Half-Staff in Honor of Cartwright

 

Flags across the State of Oklahoma are flying at half-staff to honor the passing of an Osage County Commissioner.

 

Osage County District 3 Commissioner Charlie Cartwright of Fairfax passed away on May 11th following a long illness. He was 72 years old.

 

In honor of Cartwright's passing, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has ordered flags to be lowered to half-staff until 5pm on Friday, May 22. Cartwright spent more than 40 years in law enforcement before being elected to serve on the Osage County Commission. Cartwright was known for his leadership and his commitment to his community.

 

He was laid to rest on Wednesday, May 20,  in Fairfax.
