The Nowata County Commissioners approve a plan for the sales tax budget for fiscal year 2027.

 

Agriculture educator with the OSU Extension Office Tara Martin addressed the commission regarding an increase in their budget due to bringing in a new educator once a week. Martin says the increase in budgetary costs are due to the additional family and consumer sciences educator.

 

Commissioners questioned Martin about the request. Troy Friddle asks Martin about the proposed pay for the position.

 

The board approved the plan with the increase from the OSU Extension Office by a 2-1 vote, with Vice-Chairman Brandon Wesson voting against the plan.

 

The Nowata County Commission will meet again on Tuesday due to the Memorial Day holiday.
