The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is making its way through Coffeyville.

The global torch relay promotes peace and unity, giving people the chance to share their hopes for a more peaceful world. Since 1987, the Peace Run has traveled through more than 150 countries and territories. Runners arrived from Cherryvale along U.S. 169, with stops at the Dalton Defenders Museum and the Boys and Girls Club, where they presented a program for local youth.

Each participant carries the Peace Torch for a portion of the route before passing it on, symbolizing friendship and unity across communities. The team started their day in Chanute and is expected to finish in Claremore, Oklahoma.
