The Caney Industrial Park is now officially listed as a Certified Site through Kansas Department of Commerce.

The City of Caney was made aware of the certification on Monday from Executive Director of the Montgomery County Action Council Melissa Johnson. The official certification through the Kansas Department of Commerce, it means the land has been officially pre-qualified and vetted as "shovel-ready" for major business, commercial, or industrial development. The designation is issued to properties that have successfully completed a set of program requirements to demonstrate that the property is primed for development and ready for investment.

The 59 acres of the Caney Industrial Park will now be marketed for future economic development.
