Coffeyville firefighters assist with wildfire response efforts.

Crews left Coffeyville at around 7:00pm yesterday morning, with Squad Two, a Type six brush engine, joining a Wyandotte County Task Force alongside Columbus Fire Rescue. The task force includes personnel from Kansas City, Kansas, Bonner Springs and Edwardsville.

Firefighters arrived in Meade yesterday afternoon around 2:30pm and were assigned to the fire line, where they worked suppression efforts until about 10:00pm. Crews then traveled to Dodge City for overnight rest before returning to the Meade area this morning to continue operations. Crews remain actively engaged in wildfire response as conditions continue in southwest Kansas.
