The Altamont City Council completes the yearly reappointment of city officials and updates emergency response policies.

At the most recent council meeting, City Manager LeaAnn Myers was reappointed along with City Clerk Brian Orender and City Attorney Robert Myers. Mayor Richard Hayward also informed the council that he had met with the City Administrator, along with Police Chief Michael Shields, Fire Chief Cody Dickerson, and City Superintendent Nathan Barnett to review emergency response policies. Hayward says the recent severe weather prompted the review.

The policies were last reviewed in 2019. In other business, it was announced that the public swimming pool is set to open on May 23 and that the annual Flag Day celebration is set for Saturday, June 13.
