Three people are hurt following a two vehicle accident near the state line in Crawford County.
The accident happened Thursday afternoon on K-171 at the intersection of South 260th Street or just southwest of Opolis. The adult female driver of one of the vehicles was taken to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg while the male driver of the second auto was taken via MedFlight to Joplin. A female passenger was also transported via ambulance to Mercy Pittsburg. First responders were on scene for nearly two hours before the accident was cleared.
The Kansas Highway Patrol, Crawford County Sheriff's Department, Cherokee County Sheriff's Department, as well as Fire Departments from Galena, Crawford County, and Cherokee Township, and KDOT responded to the scene.
