Construction to Start Soon on South Coffeyville Storm Shelter

Construction will start soon on a storm shelter in South Coffeyville.

At last night's school board meeting, Superintendent Daryl Pruter shared an update on a new storm shelter that will be built with $93,000 in grant funding. Pruter says the shelter will be built near the elementary school.

Pruter says construction will start as soon as school is out and should be completed by the end of the summer. The shelter will also be available for the community to use after school hours.

In other business, the board voted to hire non-certified personnel for the upcoming school year, and discussed plans for graduation, which is this Friday at 7 p.m.
