The Coffeyville Community College Quiz Bowl finishes 4th at the state tournament in Salina.

Team members Jaci Wood, Cai Beaubien, Conner Rexwinkle, Isaiah Jennings and Trinity Lippert competed in the opening rounds, earning an early victory over Independence before facing tough matchups against Garden City and eventual state champion Cowley.

The team gained momentum Saturday with the return of captain Morgan Lasco, winning every round of the day to climb the standings. One of the closest contests came against Seward County, with the match decided by just one question. CCC’s strong finish earned the program a 4th-place team plaque, while Wood also received a 5th-place individual medal for answering the fifth-most tossup questions during the tournament.
