Emergency crews in Bates County, Missouri rescue a boater who fell into the water.
Just before 2pm yesterday, the Bates County Sheriff's Office along with Bates County EMS, the Butler Fire Department and the Rich Hill Fire Department were called to an area in the Peabody Conservation area, located about 17 miles north of Nevada. Reports indicated that an individual had fallen out of a boat and was clinging to a tree in the water.
A firefighter and a deputy hiked to the victim's location and rendered aid until a rescue team from the Butler Fire Department arrived via boat. The individual was successfully pulled from the water and brought to shore without further incident.
