A Cowley County man is dead after entering a watershed area to save a calf.

Cowley County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a missing person around 2:45 yesterday morning near the City of Silverdale. The missing man – identified as John Kanelakos – was reported missing after a property owner found his truck still running. A dive team would locate the missing man's body later that morning. The investigation into the drowning remains ongoing.
