Clean up in Sycamore continues following last week’s two tornadoes that tore through the unincorporated town north of Independence.

 

Montgomery County Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson has been organizing the clean up effort after one EF-1 tornado and another EF-2 tornado struck Sycamore on April 26th. Whitson says he has already heard from several of the people who were most impacted by the storm.

 

The company G & G Dozer of Caney has offered to set up several large dumpsters for storm debris. Those dumpsters will be paid for by Great Plains Methodist Conference of Topeka. Members of the group are also planning to assist with the cleanup. Whitson says it’s a team effort with both private and public groups.
