The text appears to be from the District Court of Kansas, Traffic Division. It informs the recipient that the matter must be resolved by a certain date or that person will face legal consequences including fines. The text includes a link to a website that the scammer calls a “court portal.” Anyone who receives a text like this is advised not to reply or click the link.

 

To protect your personal information, do not give out personal or financial details. If the text claims to be from a bank, government agency, or company, look up their official, independent phone number or website to verify, rather than using the info in the text. If you receive a suspicious text, do not click links, reply, or provide personal information. Immediately block the sender, report it as spam to your mobile carrier.
