The Kansas Department of Transportation approves funding for a bike path project in Iola.

The $12.2 million project will construct bike and pedestrian paths along a 1.4 mile stretch of US-54 between State Street and Kansas Drive in Iola. The contract for the project was awrded to Bettis Asphalt and Construction of Topeka.
