The Altamont City Council reaches a decision on taking out a loan from the state to help pay for repairs to its sewer system.
Council members spent nearly two hours discussing the issue at its most recent meeting. Council member Tyler Julich says the work needs to be done and the City will have to find a way to fund it.
Council member Zachary Sellers says doing the work sooner rather than later will mean costs will be lower.
After an extensive discussion, Lyle Sykes makes the motion and Mayor Richarcd Hayward calls for the vote.
The City Council voted in favor of taking out a 30-year, $2 million loan from the State Revolving Fund. The next step in the process will be engineering and design.
