Coffeyville Commission Discusses Water Rates

The Coffeyville City Commission discusses the possibility of water rates going up to help prepare for a new water treatment plant.

City Manager Ben Brubaker says this is due to aging infrastructure and Coffeyville isn't the only City that is dealing with this.  Brubaker says the average monthly cost for about 98% of Coffeyville would go up just over $11 a month.

No action was taken on the issue as this was just a discussion by City staff and the Commission. In other business, the Commission approved a resolution authorizing a special question election for a one half cent sales tax for CRMC. This would just extend the current sales tax already in place.
