Independence Community College is launching a new program aimed at connecting students with real-world job experience.
ICC Works is a paid internship program that pairs students with local employers across a wide range of fields, including healthcare, business, technology, agriculture and skilled trades. Program Director Whitney Lanning says the goal is to give students hands-on experience while helping them build confidence in their career paths. Students in the program can earn income while developing practical skills and making professional connections.
To qualify, students must be enrolled at ICC, maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, and be able to work 10 to 20 hours per week over an eight to 10 week period. The program also benefits local employers by helping build a stronger workforce pipeline in Southeast Kansas. Students and employers can learn more or apply online at indycc.edu.
