Two people are arrested following the service of a search warrant in Frontenac.
On March 14 at around 5pm, Pittsburg Police responded to a welfare check on Iris Lane involving a report of a person with a firearm. During the investigation, the suspect identified as 40-year-old Justin J. Collins, fled and evaded officers, leaving behind a stolen firearm, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
In the following weeks, Collins allegedly sent threatening messages to a known victim while officers were unable to locate him despite multiple attempts.
Last Sunday, a joint operation by local and state law enforcement led officers to a residence in Frontenac, where Collins was seen fleeing but was quickly apprehended after a brief pursuit. He was taken for medical evaluation and before being booked into the Crawford County Jail.
A search warrant was sought for the home, and a resident, 41-year-old Demitra Ann Durden was arrested for interference and obstruction.
Collins faces multiple charges including drug distribution, weapons violations, criminal threats, and interference with law enforcement, and is being held on a $250,000 bond, while Durden is held without bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
