A juvenile suspect is in custody in Cherokee County after alleged threats were made against Columbus High School.
On Saturday, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office was notified of potential threats had been made toward students and staff at Columbus High School. Detectives from the Sheriff's Office along with officials from USD 493 and the school resource officer, investigated the threats and found evidence that the threats had been made. A juvenile suspect was identified and arrested. The individual was then turned over to Juvenile Authorities. The C-C-S-O says there is no indication of any ongoing threats, but there will be increased law enforcement presence and enforcement in the Columbus Schools this week.
