One person is dead following a rollover accident northwest of Fort Scott.
The accident occurred around 9:15 Thursday morning on 125th Street about 5 miles north of US-54 or about 10 miles northwest of Fort Scott. 57-year-old Kellie Harvey of Mapleton was traveling northbound on 125th Street when her 1996 Ford Explorer left the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the SUV to leave the roadway again on the opposite side, where the vehicle overturned multiple times. Harvey was pronounced deceased shortly after the accident occurred.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says Harvey was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
