Nowata County Commissioners discuss drug testing policies for county employees.

At this week's meeting, commissioners considered possible changes to the current drug testing policy which allows for all-around testing for all employees as well as random testing. During the discussion with County Clerk Kay Spurgeon and Commission Chair Paul Crupper, Commissioner Troy Friddle says, such testing can be expensive.

The current policy also allows for drug tests for drivers with a commercial driver's license (CDL) and if there is an accident in the workplace. Following the discussion, commissioners voted to table the issue until next Monday's regular meeting.
