The Osage County Jail continues to deal with ongoing water issues. The jail has lost water at least six times in the past year. Osage County Sheriff Bart Perrier says this last time they were without water for eight hour.
Perrier says he has spoken to JT Darling with INCOG about possibly applying for a grant that would allow for the sheriff's office to get a water tower and generator of its own. District Three Commissioner Charlie Cartwright, who used to work at the jail, says this has been a problem for many years.
Before any grant writing gets started, a contract engineer will conduct a preliminary report to see what the scope of the project will be.
