Sedan Appoints New Council Member

The Sedan City Council appoints a new member following a resignation and a reorganization.

At last week’s meeting, Nathan Blakenship was appointed to fill the vacant seat on the City Council. Mayor Kathy Miller calls for the vote.

Nathan Blankenship was appointed to fill the seat left open after Miller was chosen to take over as mayor. That move was made after the resignation of former Sedan Mayor Brian Blankenship last month.

Council Members also received an update on the City Finances from City Treasurer Raven Darnall. Darnall says the City’s current holdings are just over $3 million.

In other business, Council members also approved a measure to purchase a 6-foot long metal memorial bench for Mariellen Appleby for $1,650.
