Even though it is only March, it is never to early to start thinking about Coffeyville's biggest event of the summer.

Coffeyville's Summer Celebration takes place the Saturday after the Fourth of July. Organizer Cathy Smith says this event started 20 years ago in their backyard.  Smith says they are looking for sponsors and volunteers for the event.

Smith says for those who wanted to volunteer or donate for the Summer Celebration they can contact her or Gail at (620)252-8688 or (620)252-5155. This is the 20^th year of the celebration, 10^th year it will be at Walter Johnson Park and this is America's 250^th birthday.
