New Fiber Internet Coming to Miami

A new multi-million-dollar fiber internet project is in the works in Miami.

The Miami Special Utility Authority Trustees have approved contracts for materials and construction of a new high-speed fiber optics system.

The entire project is expected to cost an estimated $11 million after an initial cost of $3.6 million. The network will be owned and operated by MSUA.

Miami City Manager Tyler Cline say that high-capacity fiber services are a major diving force in economic vitality and will help keep Miami competitive.

The goal is to begin offering services to MSUA residential, commercial and industrial customers by the end of 2026.
