The Miami Police Department is continuing to investigate a stabbing incident.

Wednesday night, officers were dispatched around 8:30pm to the 400 block of East Street Northwest for a reported altercation involving multiple individuals. Authorities say those involved were known to each other, and the incident was not random, there is no ongoing threat to the public. While officers were responding, some individuals fled on foot and another left in a vehicle.

Officers later located that vehicle and identified the driver as the stabbing victim, who was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. One person was detained and questioned but not arrested. Police say the victim has not been cooperative with investigators.
