Cherryvale Home Destoryed by Fire; Relief Effort Organized for Family

A Cherryvale home is a total loss after a structure fire.

According to Independence Fire/EMS, which provided mutual aid with the Cherryvale Fire Department, units responded to the call early Monday morning just after midnight. A house in the 600 Block of N Labette Street in Cherryvale was fully involved. Despite heavy winds, the fire was eventually extinguished.  No one was injured in the incident.  The Cherryvale Fire Department was also assisted by Cherryvale Rual Fire and the Cherryvale Police Department.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
