Five people, including three children, are injured in a weekend car accident in Crawford County.

The accident occurred just before 11am on Saturday near the intersection of Ford Avenue and Rouse Street near the Pittsburg State campus. The two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on Rouse when the driver of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade 35-year-old Ashley Rook of Noel, MO, attempted a left turn in front of the oncoming 2026 Kia Carnival. The collision caused both vehicles to spin.

The driver of the Kia 37-year-old Tyler Conyers of Pittsburg along with passenger 35-year-old Christina Conyers and three minor children all sustained minor injuries. All five were transported to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg for treatment. No one in the Escalade was injured.
