Montgomery County Commission to Consider Equipment Purchase for Rural Fire

 

The Montgomery County Commission will meet today and discuss the purchase of several pieces of large equipment for the Rural Fire Department.

 

District Fire Chief Michael Smith will appear before the commission to go over several bids for a new skid unit as well as the potential purchase of a new pumper truck. Labette Health CEO Brian Williams will also be at today’s meeting to go over the EMS Interlocal Agreement, the SEK Health Co-op, and the Kansas Rural Health Transformation Program grant. County Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson will also be on hand to review the recent county-wide burn ban.

 

Today’s meeting begins at 9am in the Commission Room on the lower level of the Judicial Center in Independence. The public is invited to attend in person or to view the meeting online via the County’s website.
